Name: Lepanthes telipogoniflora Schuit. & A.de Wilde
Etymologie: telipogoniflora = Telipogon-blütig — bezieht sich auf die optische Ähnlichkeit der markanten, flachen Blütenstruktur mit Vertretern der Gattung Telipogon.

Erstbeschreibung: 1996 von André Schuiteman und Antonius de Wilde in Orquideologia (20: 28).
Herkunft / Verbreitung: Kolumbien (Endemit im Departamento Risaralda).
Standort / Habitat: Epiphytisch wachsend in feuchten, tropischen Tiefland- bis Vorgebirgswäldern in Höhenlagen um 500 Meter. Sie besiedelt schattige, permanent feuchte Bereiche an Zweigen und dünnen Ästen im feucht-warmen bis intermediären Mikroklima.
Beschreibung & Anmerkungen: Lepanthes telipogoniflora ist eine spektakuläre, extrem zwergwüchsige Miniatur-Orchidee mit schlanken, aufrechten Trieben, die von lepanthiformen Scheiden umhüllt sind. Jedes Triebende trägt ein einzelnes, kleines, elliptisches Blatt. Der sukzessive blühende Blütenstand bringt nacheinander flache, im Verhältnis zur Pflanzengröße riesige Blüten hervor, die einen Durchmesser von bis zu 1,25 cm erreichen können. Die fast kreisrunde, flache Scheibe wird von den intensiv orange-rot bis lachsfarben leuchtenden Kelchblättern (Sepalen) gebildet, während Petalen und Lippe winzig im Zentrum liegen.

In der Kultur benötigt diese Rarität warm-temperierte bis intermediäre Bedingungen. Aufgrund der fehlenden Speicherorgane darf die Pflanze niemals komplett austrocknen. Die Kultur gelingt am besten aufgebunden auf Kork mit einer Unterlage aus feuchtem Sphagnum-Moos oder in winzigen Netztöpfen. Eine konstant hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit von über 75–80 % sowie eine kontinuierliche, sanfte Luftbewegung zur Vermeidung von Pilzinfektionen sind Pflicht. Perfekt geeignet für gut kontrollierte Regenwald-Vitrinen und Terrarien.

In-vitro-Kultur: Sie erhalten eine Flasche mit 4 Jungpflanzen. Die Pflanzen sind in der Regel bereits groß genug zum Ausflaschen. Nach dem Öffnen das Nährmedium vorsichtig mit lauwarmem Wasser vollständig von den feinen Wurzeln entfernen und die Jungpflanzen auf feuchtes Sphagnum oder in ein sehr feines, luftiges Substrat setzen. In den ersten Wochen empfehlen wir sehr hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit, warm-temperierte Bedingungen und schattiges bis helles, geschütztes Licht. Das Substrat nie vollständig austrocknen lassen und gleichzeitig für sanfte Luftbewegung sorgen.
